Phoenix police rock in new jaywalking campaign

PHOENIX — Police officers in Arizona are using classic rock references to promote their new jaywalking campaign.

Officers from the Phoenix Police Department posed for photos that paid tribute to classic albums from The Beatles and Queen. The photos have been posted on the police department's social media pages, where they are generating buzz.

The "Rock the Crosswalk" campaign hopes to address the high number of pedestrian-vehicle fatalities in Phoenix, azcentral reported.

Phoenix isn't the only city addressing pedestrian safety. Honolulu has banned pedestrians from texting while in a crosswalk.
