Do you live in one of America's 'most stressed' states? See the list

Everyone gets a little stressed out now and then, but residents in some American states tend to have it worse than others.

For personal finance website WalletHub's ranking of the most and leaststressed states in the nation for 2017, analysts examined all 50 states and the District of Columbia across four key dimensions: work-related stress, money-related stress, family-related stress and health-/safety-related stress.

The dimensions were evaluated by 33 relevant metrics. For example, job security, work hours and commute time fell under work-related stress.

Parental leave policies and child care costs were assessed to determine family-related stress scores.

Data from the U.S. Census, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Housing and Urban Development and several other sources were collected to create this ranking.

The most stressed state in the nation, according to WalletHub, is Alabama. And Minnesotans are the least stressed.

Alabama scored in the top five for high work-related, money-related and family-related stress.
