Scotty McCreery and longtime girlfriend Gabi Dugal are engaged.
On Sept. 26, the two decided to make their love official, as Scotty popped the question.
“I’ve been planning this moment for so long that it feels surreal for it to have finally happened,” McCreery said in a statement. “Gabi is the perfect girl and my true love, and I cannot wait to begin building our life together as husband and wife.”

According to a news release, Scotty proposed to his love in the mountains of North Carolina, while they were hiking together. When the couple reached the top of the mountain, Scotty got down on one knee, gave her the ring he had specifically designed for her and asked the one question that will ultimately change the rest of their lives.
The couple plans to be married in 2018.
