Tractor-trailer crash snarls traffic on I-95 in Peabody

PEABODY, Mass. — A tractor-trailer crash on I-95 in Peabody has created a traffic nightmare for commuters trying to head to work Wednesday morning.

Boston 25 News’ Julie Grauert was first to report the crash, which occurred on I-95 north at Route 1.

MassDOT officials said all lanes, with the exception of the breakdown lane, were closed because of the crash. In addition, two lanes were also closed on the southbound side of the road.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area if possible.

It’s expected to take some time to remove the truck from the area and reopen the road.

It’s unknown what caused the truck to crash, or if any injuries have been reported.
