Topsfield man accused of making bomb threats due in court

(MyFoxBoston.com) – A Topsfield man accused of having bomb-making materials and weapons in his home is due in court Thursday.

Daniel Morley, 27, is charged with two counts of making threats and two counts of assault and battery.

Morley was arrested in June after police say he attacked his mother and her boyfriend. According to court documents, officers found items used to make explosives, including a pressure cooker and fertilizer, inside his home. There was also an assault rifle and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

The FBI is investigating any possible connection to the Boston Marathon bombers, but so far, have not linked the two cases.

Morley has been held at Bridgewater State Hospital for a mental evaluation since his arrest.
