Topsfield Fair vendor reportedly raped woman

TOPSFIELD (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A female victim was reportedly raped by a sausage vendor at the Topsfield Fair on Monday night.

The 30-year-old woman told police that she was walking in a non-public area of the fairgrounds when she was attacked and sexually assaulted around 10:30 p.m., reports The Boston Globe.

The victim was able to escape her attacker and notify police.

Based on the description that she gave, police arrested Paul R. Carson, of Rochester, N.H. Carson was working at a sausage stand which apparently rented space from Fiesta Shows, reports the newspaper.

Carson pleaded not guilty to one count of rape at his arraignment on Tuesday. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.
