HAVERHILL, Mass. -- A toddler has life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Haverhill.
Haverhill police tell Boston 25 News man and woman were crossing River Street around 6:20 p.m. with the toddler when a car hit the woman and child.

The woman received minor injuries to her hand, but police tell Boston 25 News the toddler has life-threatening injuries and was taken to Lawrence General Hospital.

The driver stopped, according to police, and an investigation into the crash is underway.
“My prayers are with his family and I hope got has him in his hands," the driver told Boston 25 News at the scene. “I have a son his age I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.”
