Three-alarm fire starts at Newton business, jumps to cars outside

NEWTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Firefighters in Newton responded to a three-alarm fire that began at a business and spread to cars parked outside Tuesday.

The fire started at the Splash Kitchen and Bath Showroom on Needham Street Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, the fire then jumped to cars parked out front and even set above electrical lines on fire.

Traffic was blocked in both directions as fire crews worked to extinguish the flames.

Crews were delayed in extinguishing the car fires because they had to wait for NStar to shut down the power to the electrical wires first.
