Three students suffer minor injuries in Lexington crash involving school bus

LEXINGTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A school bus filled with children was involved in a crash with two other cars Friday morning in Lexington.

It happened at around 8:25 a.m. The accident remains under investigation, but police said they believe the driver of one of the cars may have made an illegal turn into the path of an oncoming school bus, on a Route 2 off-ramp, near the intersection of Concord Avenue and Spring Street.

Police said the bus hit the car, and the impact sent it on a collision course with another car.

Three children on the bus were taken to Emerson Hospital for minor bumps and bruises. A passing pediatrician who saw the accident stopped to help.

The driver of the car suspected of the possibly illegal maneuver was hurt and taken to Leahy Clinic.

Police say they continue to investigate and will determine if charges should be filed against the initial driver.
