Three men accused of trying to abduct girl, 16, in Swampscott

SWAMPSCOTT, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Three males allegedly tried to abduct a 16-year-old Swampscott girl.

Police said it happened at about 8 p.m. Wednesday as the girl was walking home in a residential neighborhood on Norfolk Avenue, near Stetson Avenue. According to police, a white Honda Civic pulled up to the girl and a man in his 30s with a thin, outlined beard and a medium build told her to come in his car, and that he knew where she lived. Two other males were seated in the back seat of the car, police said. The victim told police the man was Mexican.

The victim told police she became scared, told the man she didn't want anything to do with him, and continued walking. The suspect then allegedly grabbed the victim and tried to pull her into the car before she fought him off and ran home, a short distance away. The suspect allegedly followed her down Stetson Avenue in his vehicle, and then fled toward Salem, according to police.

Police said the struggle resulted in the girl ripping her shirt. She was not hurt in the incident and notified her family when she arrived home.
