Third suspect arrested in exchange of gunfire with police

BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The third suspect in a police-involved exchange of gunfire was arrested Friday.

The Enterprise reports 21-year-old Malcolm Desir of Brockton is charged with two counts of armed assault to murder.

Two other men, Dimitri Fidelia, of Dorchester, and Ceatano Oliveira, of Brockton, were arrested shortly after the incident Thursday.

Mass. State Police say they were assisting Brockton police with a drug operation in the area of Amherst Street Thursday night when they exchanged gunfire with one suspect, who police identify as Desir. That suspect then fled the area in a car with two others, identified as Fidelia and Oliveira.

The suspects fled from the car near North Montello Street. Fidelia and Oliveira were arrested a short time later.
