Thieves root around in 25 cars in West Bridgewater this week

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Police in and around West Bridgewater are investigating after thieves went into more than two dozen cars this week.

Dan Gazzero was one of the victims, and he said it was quite a surprise to wake up to.

“When I come outside I saw the glove compartment was still open and the console was open and the contents were spilled onto the floor,” he said.

Surveillance video shared with Boston 25 News shows a man slowly approach the truck in the dark. A light turns on, but the man continues trying to open the door and looking in the window.

“My truck is usually locked but apparently I left it unlocked last night,” Gazerro said.

Over two nights, police said 25 unlocked cars were ransacked. The thieves got away with laptops, cell phones and money.

“I had just cleaned the truck out. There was nothing in there. they moved some CD’s around. They looked through everything. Everything was open,” Gazzero said.

But it could have been worse. Another victim, Tom Wasilewski’s son Cory, was killed in a crash on Route 24 a year ago, but pictures of him were not taken from the truck.
