Thanksgiving Day traffic already clogging Boston's arteries

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The Thanksgiving travel week has started early on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Traffic in and out of Boston on Tuesday night came to a standstill in some areas along the east and westbound sides of the Pike.

SKYFOX hovered over traffic in the Boston area around rush hour and captured what looked like a red and white light holiday display created by car lights.

Those who chose to use I-93 did not fare much better as traffic appeared to be completely stopped in some areas.

Before you travel, check MassDOT's online traffic camera webpage to view live traffic cameras throughout the highway system. The 511 traffic alert system will include messages to alert customers to traffic advisories throughout the holiday weekend.
