Temps in the high 70s, low 80s Friday ahead of gorgeous weekend

A cold front will continue to push through and off the New England coast early this morning. Even though most areas will stay dry, a brief spot shower may be possible as this front clears. Skies will become partly sunny with most sun to the north and west today. The cool air behind this front will combine with the August sun to produce some clouds and a stray sprinkle possible in the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s near the coast, but inland temps may reach the lower 80s.

If you are heading to the beach, waves will be running about 1-2 feet. There is a low risk of rip currents at all local beaches. Water temperatures remain in the mid to upper 60s. With developing sunshine, the UV index will be high, so sunscreen is a must!

High pressure behind this departing front will build into the region and provide gorgeous conditions for the weekend! Expect an abundance of sunshine, cooler temperatures and low humidity for your Saturday. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s. A light sea breeze may develop and that will keep the coolest conditions at the coast. Sunday will be similar with sunny skies and comfortable conditions. Winds will shift slightly from the west and that means temperatures will be a few degrees higher than Saturday.
