Temps in the 40s Friday with afternoon, evening spotty showers

by FOX 25 Meteorologist Shiri Spear:

It will be another chilly start in the 20s Friday.  Clouds have already started to spill into southern New England with a milder and damper body of air.

Most of the day will run dry with mostly cloudy conditions developing.

This afternoon and evening, spotty showers will develop.  Precipitation will stay light.  Highs will range from 42 to 48 degrees, mildest along the coast.

Rain is forecasted overnight.  Mostly locations stay above freezing with lowers near 37.  Western Mass and south New Hampshire may pick up some icy patches with slightly cooler overnight temps.

On and off showers will continue Saturday, at least for the first half of the day.  Highs will top out in the upper 40s.  Currently the models have a lull in the action later afternoon and evening.  In this case, the clouds would persist but showers would fizzle.

Sunday will be mostly dry with highs in the lower 50s.  There may even be a few breaks in the clouds.  The chance for rain will return late in the day.
