Temperatures drop this weekend, flurries possible early Saturday

From meteorologist Sarah Wroblewski:

Showers from the day have ended, with some areas picking up as much as .25" of rain. A cold front will cross the region tonight, so expect clouds to linger overnight. Temperatures from the upper 40s to low 50s from earlier today will drop into the 30s to even upper 20s overnight.

Although early risers Saturday may see that sprinkle or flurry, most of the day will be dry and partly sunny. Highs will peak in the middle 40s. It will feel cooler in a breezy northwest wind.

An arctic front will head through Saturday night and dramatically drop temps Sunday. Wake up weather will be in the teens and 20s. Temperatures will struggle to reach the freezing mark in the afternoon. No matter the temperature… the active northwest wind about 20-30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph will make it FEEL even colder. Expect wind chill values (what you should dress for) to be in the teens and single digits in the afternoon. Despite dry conditions closer to the surface, there is a lot of upper level "junk" in the atmosphere… this will produce some clouds on Sunday and may even allow for some passing flurries at any time. The Pats game Sunday night will be bitter and raw. Sustained winds 15-25 mph with temperature readings in the middle 20s will result in single digit wind chills.

We are continuing to watch a coastal storm that may take aim at the area Wednesday into early Thanksgiving morning. There is still uncertainly about the exact track-which will determine if it's all rain or a mix with snow. This will be one to watch over the next couple days and I advise those with travel plans for Wednesday to pay close attention to the forecast for daily updates as this storm will likely impact that very busy travel day.
