'Team Wilfork' responds to Ted Johnson's 'ugly' comment

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Vince Wilfork's wife took to social media to thank those who showed her support after former Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson made a controversial comment about her during a radio interview on Friday.

During a "None of Your Business" segment on Sports Radio 610 Houston, Johnson was asked by a caller which of his teammates had the ugliest wife.

"You know what? I got it. This is a big, big man. And this guy had his way with the Texans this year," Johnson began. "He won't hear this. Vince Wilfork."

Wilfork, indeed, heard it.

"You're [sic] barking up the wrong tree," tweeted Wilfork. "I hear and see everything (expletive)."

Wilfork then tweeted that he apologizes to his fans for anything he says on Twitter.

"I do not play when it comes to my family," said Wilfork.

He then posted a screencap of a longer message he wrote to Johnson:

"Everyone [sic] is entitled to their own opinion but it is (expletive) up when a x-teammate that I actually looked up to and enjoyed playing with takes shots at my wife for whatever reasons. I love my wife and my family. She is my everything. I don't care when this was said no one should cross that line. The line has been crossed so it is what it is. All I wanna say is (expletive)! You don't want to (expletive) with me or my family. Take shots at me all day but not them. I have a great family life and blessed to have them.

Johnson then posted an apology on his Twitter account.

"I just made a huge error in judgment and want to apologize to Vince and his wife for comments I made earlier today on a Houston radio show," said Johnson. "Vince and his family are outstanding people who I have admired since they arrived in NE. I learned a big lesson today and feel terrible."

Late Friday afternoon, Bianca Wilfork responded in a posting on Instagram.

"In this day and age people forget to realize it's not about looks, weight, money, or status," says Bianca, who goes by @mrs75 both on Instagram and Twitter. "My relationship with my husband of 9 years and together for 12 is about being real, being in love, building each other up, and having each other's back."

Bianca goes on to say that those things cannot be measured or valued by looks or money. She also thanks her and her husband's fans for their support and assures them that she is doing well.

"Team Wilfork is always good," says Mrs. 75 in a tweet.
