• SWAT team responds to drug deal gone awry in Randolph


    RANDOLPH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Authorities, including a SWAT team, responded to an apartment building on Nelson Drive in Randolph Tuesday after a drug deal went awry.

    Police said the incident occurred at 28 Nelson Drive in Randolph at about 4 p.m.

    A drug deal in the laundry room of the apartment complex allegedly became physical and at least one weapon was shown during the altercation, police said.

    Upon arrival, police learned one of the suspects involved in the fight and the drug deal was barricaded inside an apartment at the complex.

    The SWAT team was called in because police believed the suspect was armed.

    The apartment building was evacuated while authorities talked to the barricaded suspect. The suspect gave himself up to police and was taken into custody at about 8:30 p.m.
