Suspected serial bank robber arrested in Everett

TEWKSBURY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Malden man wanted in connection with robberies in Billerica, Wilmington, Tewksbury, and Dracut was arrested Monday after he allegedly committed another bank robbery in Everett.

The Tewksbury Police Department issued a warrant for 28-year-old John Freni after he robbed the Eastern Bank located at 1800 Main St. at about 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, police said.

Following an investigation, authorities realized the suspect in Tewksbury's bank robbery matched the description of a suspect wanted in connection with similar robberies in Billerica, Wilmington, and Dracut. A warrant was then issued for his warrant.

Officers located Freni Monday after he allegedly committed another bank robbery at the Eastern Bank located at 738 Broadway in Everett.

Freni was taken into custody and held without bail.
