Suspected gunman in Holyoke shooting taken into custody

HOLYOKE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 21-year-old Holyoke man has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting that injured a 5-year-old and his father.

Brian Marrero, the suspected gunman, was apprehended around 7 p.m. Friday.

According to police, the boy and his father were shot near the corner of Lyman and North Summer streets around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The father and son, whose names weren't released, are expected to recover.

Police are going to hold a press conference Saturday morning.
