Suspect sought in Portsmouth jewelry store robbery

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Portsmouth are searching for a male suspect accused of vandalizing and robbing a Deer Street jewelry store on Thursday.

According to police, the suspect used a 30 pound dumbbell to break the glass doors of Chrisrial and Company Jewelers located at 28 Deer Street around 4 a.m.

The suspect also smashed several glass cases and stole an unknown amount of jewelry. He then fled the store on foot.

Officers responded to the scene and searched the area, but did not find the suspect.

The male suspect is described as being average height and average to heavy build. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing blue jeans, a dark belt, black boots, a black jacket or sweatshirt with a hood.
