Survey: 30 percent of employees who call in sick are lying

Updated:

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Believe it or not, sometimes when people take sick days they aren't really sick. That may not be a shocker, but exactly how many of us do it is surprising.

According to a new survey, it turns out that 30 percent of workers who call in sick are actually feeling fine.

The survey of more than 5,000 people appears on the website careerbuilder.com. The survey also reported on the most unusual excuses that have been used by workers.

Some of the best? One employee said her dog was having a nervous breakdown, another said they were upset after watching The Hunger Games.

Another interesting note, july and december are the most popular months for call-outs.
