Surveillance video shows alleged Newbury Street shoplifting

BOSTON — Brazen shoplifters were caught on camera allegedly shoplifting at a Newbury Street boutique Friday afternoon, managing to steal a lot of merchandise very quickly.

“You can tell… they are very good at this,” said , Cheng Ma owner of Lipstick Boutique.

Ma said she lost a half a dozen dresses to a pair of thieves.

She said two men came into the small women's clothing shop early Friday afternoon. They chatted up the woman working, and surveillance footage shows them picking up dresses and putting them back.

When the employee wasn't looking, video shows one by one the two men appear to put dresses, hangars and all, into reusable shopping bags they walked in with.

The woman working at the time said she realized what was happening shortly before the men took off but was alone and afraid to confront them.
