Sunshine, dry conditions expected Sunday

High pressure to our north provided us with breezy northeast winds that helped transport moisture from the ocean inland today. That is why this afternoon we saw a lot of clouds around and some areas of mist and drizzle.

Tonight, high pressure continues to  dip further south bringing drier air into the region. This will help break apart the clouds overnight despite some patchy fog. So under partly cloudy skies, temperatures will drop back into the 40s.

High pressure pushes farther south on Sunday. This means sunshine will rule and so will dry conditions. Winds will be lighter too, making it feel more comfortable Sunday afternoon with temperatures in the mid-60s inland, low 60s closer to the coast. The Patriots game will be nice Sunday afternoon, but expect temps to drop quickly once the sun sets shortly after 6PM. This means, it will be a chilly night at Fenway for game 2. It will be dry with mostly clear skies, but temps will start in the low 50s for first pitch and drop into the 40s throughout the game. Winds will be light out of the ESE.

It is also a holiday weekend! Monday actually looks very nice with sunshine. If you have plans to check out the fall foliage, leaves are just turning over the Cape, with moderate color across southern New England. Across the higher terrain of central and western MA into NH, VT and southern ME foliage is at its peak! However, we are already seeing past peak conditions across northern New England and upstate NY. If you will be in that area, careful driving as leaf covered roadways can be slippery! The next chance for showers arrives midweek- safely after the long weekend. Enjoy!
