Summer concerts at Gillette Stadium in jeopardy

FOXBORO, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A new report claims an insurance snafu at Gillette Stadium has put summer concerts at the venue in jeopardy.

The summer line-up, including Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, and the New England Country Music Festival featuring Kenny Chesney, may be forced to cancel their shows if Foxboro and The Kraft Group are still at odds over liability insurance, The Sun Chronicle reports.

Foxboro officials say it is an unfair burden and risk for the town to be responsible for a $50,000 insurance deductible on every claim arising out of a stadium event.

The town was recently slapped with a class action suit by patrons claiming their civil rights were violated when police put them in protective custody because it "appeared" they were drunk at stadium events.

The deadline to resolve the issue is June 30.

Lawyers for both sides are meeting to try to work out a solution by Thursday night's selectmen meeting.
