• Subway violinist takes Macklemore to Public Garden

In an April Hot on the Web segment, we introduced you to Boston-based violinist and YouTube phenom Rhett Price. At the time, Price and fellow fiddler Josh Knowles were rocking the Red Line with violin arrangements of pop songs (notably Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble") to make a living.

My, what a difference three months makes.

Since we last checked in with Price, he's released violin versions of Fallout Boy's "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark" and, most recently, Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us."

He's booked performances in San Francisco, Washington, DC and New Mexico. He's been contacted about playing weddings in Italy, England, Scotland and Mexico. And he's working on some online promotions with the Timberland Boot Company.

Oh, and there's the little matter of him performing at private functions held by New England Patriots' TE Rob Gronkowski and Red Sox owner John Henry.

Price says his dream is to sell out the TD Garden. At the rate he's going, we don't doubt he's on the brink of that happening.

Since being posted on July 19, "Can't Hold Us" has more than 75,000 views.
