Stun gun used on Tewksbury man claiming to be God

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) - Police say a Tewksbury man stripped naked, repeatedly hit himself in the head and claimed to be God, prompting officers to use a stun gun on him five times.

Patrick Taylor pleaded not guilty in Lowell District Court to charges including open and gross lewdness, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was released on personal recognizance.

Police say when they arrived at a Billerica home at about 1:40 a.m. Sunday they found the 20-year-old Taylor covered in blood and dirt. He allegedly told officers he was God.

Taylor's father said his son has no history of substance abuse or mental illness.

reports that his lawyer says Taylor was hanging out with some unsavory people and one of them slipped him something. Taylor has no memories of his behavior.
