LEICESTER, Mass. -
For years, families have flocked to Waite Street in Leicester to experience one of the biggest and brightest Christmas light displays around.
Saturday night, the family behind the spectacle wrote an emotional Facebook post telling their fans that they would not be able to keep the lights on any longer.
“This is a post that literally has my wife in tears. As of right now, tonight was the last night of the display,” the post said.
The display got so popular that the neighborhood was not able to handle the traffic.
But less than 24 hours later, a generous stranger stepped in and paid for the police detail needed to keep the lights on.
“Great news. A person from town, who I have never met, went and paid for Police detail to have the lights on,” they wrote.
For now, the show will go on!
If you’re interested in visiting the light display, you can find more information on their Facebook page.
