• Stoughton baby shower ends with multiple arrests

STOUGHTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Several Stoughton area police departments, as well as Massachusetts State Police, responded to a Porter Street function hall where a baby shower was being held after multiple partygoers got into a fight and started throwing bottles.

Around 11:38 p.m. on Saturday, police in Stoughton responded to Club Luiz De Camoes located at 76 Porter Street for a disturbance.

When police arrived at the private function hall, they said they found adults fighting in front of several young children. When officers told those involved to leave the building, more fights broke out, according to police.

Officers said they attempted to protect the children and break up the fights at the same time.

Police said some officers were assaulted. Four officers suffered minor injuries and at least one partygoer was stunned with a stun gun.

Police told FOX 25 that they believe more than 200 people turned out for the baby shower which was being held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Police departments from Canton, Easton and Randolph; the Massachusetts state police, and the Norfolk County sheriff were all called to the scene.

Patrick Cardoso Lopes and Paulo Pires Depina, both, 24, as well as 22-year-old Aderito Lopes Deandrade, were arrested and pleaded not guilty at their arraignment Monday. They were released on $1,000 bail.

The Brockton men face charges including disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer. The men had no comment outside court.

A 14-year-old boy was also arrested, but his name was not released.

Investigators were reviewing surveillance footage from the building.

According to Stoughton Patch, Club Luiz De Camoes is an active Portuguese club and has more than 250 active members. The hall is available for rental and is large enough for a variety of events, including birthday parties, dinner banquets and wedding receptions. There is a fully stocked bar as well as a jukebox, dance floor, stage and two pool tables.
