State Police searching for driver who tried to hit trooper in Boston

BOSTON – State Police are searching for a driver they say tried to hot a trooper with his vehicle in South Boston before taking off on the Mass. Pike.

The incident happened when a trooper attempted to stop the driver of a rented 2018 Nissan Pathfinder with tinted windows near exit 25 eastbound around 6:45 p.m.

The driver initially stopped, but as the trooper approached the suspect cut the wheel and began driving.

According to state police, the driver turned onto the Mass. Pike westbound at the airport ramps and took off at high speeds in the breakdown lane.

Police chased the vehicle for about 15 minutes before calling the chase off.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Grafton near mile marker 97.3 with footprints leading into a nearby wooded area.

A K-9 unit and the Air Wing were called to search the area.
