State Police: Male body pulled from Charles River

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A male body was pulled from the Charles River around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

According to police, a Boston University rowing coach saw the body in the water near the Harvard Bridge and notified authorities.

Mass. State Police responded to the scene and pulled the remains of an adult male from the river.

The man's age and identity have not yet been determined, but preliminary evidence suggests that it is not that of a missing Brown University student.

The cause of death was not immediately apparent and remains unknown. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office is working with state police to investigate the discovery.
