State Police identify trooper who died off-duty

State Police have identified the trooper who died while exercising off-duty Wednesday.

Trooper Matthew Daigle graduation from the State Police training trooper in October 2011. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Air Force.

Daigle suffered a medical emergency while on a run. He was taken to Framingham Metrowest Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He was 31 years old.

"Trooper Daigle was highly-regarded and deeply respected by his brother and sister troopers, as well other members of the first-responder community who knew him," said State Police Col. Rick McKeon.

Daigle is survived by his wife, sister, father and in-laws.
