Man arrested in connection with Tuesday night stabbing in Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY, Mass. — One person was brought to the hospital after a stabbing in Tewksbury, and both people involved have been arrested, according to police.

Tewskbury Police say the they responded to Pleasant St. Tuesday night for a stabbing. When they arrived, they found a man had been stabbed and was suffering from serious but non-life threatening injuries.

During their investigation, police were able to track down and arrest Thomas Quinlan, 27, from Dracut. He has been charged with armed assault to murder and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said this was not a random act, and said the incident involved a reported drug transaction.

The victim, whose identity is not being released, is also in custody on unrelated charges.

Quinlan will be arraigned at Lowell District Court Wednesday.
