Springfield police bust self-proclaimed big shot

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Springfield police have arrested the "biggest name in the city."

At least that's what he calls himself.

Officers said they witnessed a car run a red light then strike another vehicle before driving away just before 4 a.m. Wednesday. They pulled over the offending car and found Ronny Rosario behind the wheel.

Rosario allegedly told police: "You guys made a big mistake. I'm the biggest name in the city."

The unimpressed officers handcuffed the 30-year-old Rosario after a brief but violent struggle. They then found a loaded gun under his car seat that had been reported stolen from a Phoenix home.

He pleaded not guilty to a variety of weapons, driving and assault charges later Wednesday and was held on $25,000 bail.
