MARTHA'S VINEYARD (MyFoxBoston.com) – South Beach in Edgartown has reopened after Portuguese man-of-wars were spotted in the water.
The beach reopened Thursday morning after it was shut down Wednesday, reports the Boston Globe.
The man-of-wars were stinging beach-goers, leaving behind nasty welts.
At least 12 man-of-wars were scooped up from South Beach Wednesday. Two lifeguards patrolling the beach were stung and required brief hospital stays.
