(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Kevin Youkilis and the New York Yankees have agreed to a one-year, $12 million contract, according to a source.
FoxSports.com's Ken Rosenthal took to Twitter on Tuesday and tweeted that the 33-year-old third baseman will be heading to the Yankees after spending last season with the both Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox.
A member of Boston teams that won the World Series in 2004 and 2007, Youkilis had seen his playing time drastically cut and was traded to the White Sox in late June. He finished the 2012 season with a combined .235 with 19 home runs and 60 RBI.
According to SI.com, Youkilis will fill in at third for the injured Alex Rodriguez, who will miss the beginning of the 2013 season after undergoing hip surgery.
