The home invasion in Milton played out over several hours starting around 9:30 a.m. Prosecutors say a man was held hostage in his own home while the suspects waited for his wife to come home. Police said Odalis German-Peres rummaged through the man’s house while another suspected waited for the wife.

“Inside the home he was tied up with duct tape and was held inside the home for approximately six hours,” Deputy Milton Police Chief James O’Neil said.

"They took an article over his head and placed and rested a firearm against his head,” Norfolk County Assistant District Attorney Patrick Bulmer said.

When his wife came home hours later, one of the suspects took the victim in his Porsche to the bank where he was able to withdraw $20,000 and get a note to the teller.

“[The note] says in essence it's a life or death situation. Please don't call the police immediately. I'm being held hostage,” Bulmer said.

On Tuesday, German-Perez was arraigned for his alleged part in the Milton home invasion and kidnapping. He is charged with two counts kidnapping, home invasion, armed assault in dwelling and assault and battery and is being held $200,000 cash bail

In Hyde Park last week, there was a similar crime. A woman was at her home when four men broke in around 4:30 a.m. Thursday and held her at gunpoint. The men then allegedly assaulted her and forced her to driver to several ATMs to withdraw money.

Cesar Lara-Aguavivas was arrested Monday night for his alleged role in the attack after his mother identified him in surveillance photos at the police department, prosecutors said.

Lara-Aguavivas appeared in court on Tuesday on charges of home invasion, armed kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property related to the Hyde Park attack. He is being held on $1 million bail.
