Son of Boston Globe columnist found Thursday

BROOKLINE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Brookline police say the teenage son of Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby, who had been missing since Monday, was found in New York City Thursday.

Caleb Jacoby, 16, is a junior at the Maimonides School. He was missing from 12:30 p.m. Monday until Thursday evening.

Brookline Police worked with various other agencies to get information to the New York City Police Department, and using that information, Caleb Jacoby was found in Times Square around 9 p.m. Thursday. A plan is being formulated to bring him home.

The Jacoby family released the following statement Thursday evening:

"Our prayers have been answered, and we are thrilled to hear from the Brookline Police that our beloved son and brother Caleb has been found and is safe.  Words can't express our gratitude for the extraordinary outpouring of kindness and support that we have received from so many people.  All we can think of at the moment is how wonderful it will be to see Caleb again and shower him with love."
