Some Norton residents evacuated after ammonia leak

NORTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Some Norton residents were evacuated Thursday after a reported ammonia leak on South Worcester Street.

Fire officials confirmed they responded to the leak at 380 South Worcester Street. The leak stopped by 9 a.m., but an ammonia cloud still lingered in the area.

Woodward and Jackson streets were evacuated. The Town Manager said it could be hours until they were allowed to return.

There is no word on any injuries at this time.
