Small earthquake hits Concord, N.H. area

CONCORD, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A small earthquake shook the Concord, N.H. area Thursday evening.

Police told FOX 25 they were inundated with calls regarding the earthquake starting at about 9 p.m.

Experts at the New England Seismic Network said the tremor registered at a 2.6 magnitude.

Attempts to confirm the earthquake proved difficult because the U.S. Geological Survey's website is not working due to the government shutdown.

According to FOX 25's Kevin Lemanowicz, an earthquake of that magnitude would not cause any damage, but would certainly be felt.
