BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Investigators have released a sketch of a male suspect accused of using a hammer in the beating death of a 74-year-old pastor which occurred on Clinton Street in Brockton last month.
On Tuesday, the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office and the Brockton Police Dept. released a sketch of the man accused of killing Lee Harmon on Aug. 20.
The suspect has been described as a light-skinned, English-speaking Hispanic or Cape Verdean man between 16 and 26-years-old. According to police, he has a thin build and is approximately 5'10" to 6'0" tall.
At the time of the incident, witnesses said the suspect was clean shaven with a long black ponytail.
Investigators found a Red Sox baseball hat allegedly worn by the suspect near the scene.
Family members told FOX 25 Harmon was a pastor who worked at a Pentecostal church in Boston. They said he collected cans as a hobby and would often give the money to the homeless. The family members said they couldn't imagine why someone would want to hurt Harmon and called for anyone with information to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brockton Police Department at 508-941-0234.
