SI.com: Dolphins' Pouncey subpoenaed in Hernandez investigation

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Miami Dolphins' center Mike Pouncey was served with a grand jury subpoena about an hour after the team's loss to the New England Patriots Sunday.

According to Sports Illustrated, Mass. State Police delivered the subpoena to Pouncey between the Dolphins locker room and the team bus about an hour after Sunday's game.

A SI source said the subpoena was related to the Aaron Hernandez investigation. The source said police were focusing on Hernandez's potential involvement in interstate gun trafficking and several alleged transactions between Pouncey and Hernandez.

Hernandez has been arraigned on five different weapons charges resulting from the numerous searches of his North Attleboro home and Franklin condo.

SI reports law enforcement officials regard Pouncey as a "material witness" who could "advance their case" against Hernandez.

Hernandez and Pouncey were teammates at the University of Florida. Pouncey and his twin brother were photographed wearing "Free Hernandez" hats after Hernandez was arrested on murder charges.

A Dolphins spokesman said the organization and Pouncey have no comment. Bill Bellichick also said he had no comment when he was asked if he had been subpoenaed.
