BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Randolph man accused of forcing women into prostitution in Tewksbury and Braintree has been indicted in connection with human trafficking, rape, and deriving support from prostitution.
Ryan Duntin (a.k.a. Real or Tyrell), 31, was indicted Tuesday by a grand jury on charges of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude (two counts), conspiracy to traffic persons for sexual servitude (two counts), deriving support from prostitution (two counts), rape, and failing to register as a sex offender.
According to Attorney General Martha Coakley, Duntin recruited women into prostitution and forced at least one of them to engage in commercial sex, keeping the profit for himself.
An investigation into Duntin's alleged activities began in July after the matter was referred to the Attorney General's Office by the Tewksbury Police Dept. Authorities said Duntin had recruited women into prostitution and was utilizing hotels in several Massachusetts communities, namely Tewksbury and Braintree.
Duntin allegedly posted or directed advertisements to be posted offering sexual services on websites known to advertise prostitution. He then transported the women in his vehicle, harbored them in hotels, monitored their pay, and then collected the proceeds for himself, authorities said.
Duntin also allegedly used violence, threatened the women, and even allegedly raped one of the women in order to get them to comply, authorities said.
The investigation further revealed Duntin was posting advertisements offering sexual services in other states, including Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Additionally, Duntin allegedly failed to register as a sex offender by not providing the Sex Offender Registry Board with a secondary address. Authorities allege Duntin traveled to other states and lived mostly in hotels, which he did not disclose to authorities.
Duntin was arrested on September 23 on a warrant for a violation of probation by police in Warwick, R.I with assistance from Massachusetts State Police and additional authorities.
Duntin is currently being held without bail pending a probation hearing on October 18. He will be arraigned in Middlesex and Norfolk Superior Courts on dates yet to be determined.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
