Several boats catch fire at Marshfield marina

MARSHFIELD (FOX 25 /MyFoxBoston.com) –  Several boats have caught fire at a Marshfield marina.

Investigators say it's too early to tell if it was arson, but word of a suspicious fire in southeast Massachusetts did bring federal agents to the scene.

The blaze broke out around 12:30 a.m. on Central Street. Three boats have been destroyed and three others damaged.

A few nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution, but no homes were damaged and no injuries reported.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and state fire marshal were called to the scene.

The region has seen dozens of suspicious fires the past few weeks. They were all set in abandoned buildings from the Cape to the South Shore and southeastern part of the state.
