Services scheduled for Lt. Ed Walsh, FF Mike Kennedy

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Services have been scheduled for the two firefighters who lost their lives during the Beacon Street fire Wednesday.

Lt. Ed Walsh, of West Roxbury formerly of Watertown, is survived by his wife, Kristen (George) Walsh, and three children.

His visiting hours will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, which is located at 212 Main St. in Watertown. The Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., also at St. Patrick's Church.

FF Mike Kennedy, of West Roxbury, was a Marine Corps combat veteran who had been a firefighter for more than six years. His wake will be held Wednesday at the P E Murray Funeral Home, which is located at 2000 Centre St. in West Roxbury from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name Church, located at 1689 Centre St. in West Roxbury, on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Over the weekend, two new banners went up at the fire house on Boylston Street where Walsh and Kennedy worked. One is a station flag, and the other was a thank you banner.

If you are unable to make the services, the JFK Library has invited the public to sign condolence books in honor of these two firefighters from March 29 to 30.
