Senator Warren Endorses Boston Mayor Marty Walsh for Re-Election

JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass. — With less than a month until the November 7 election, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren formally announced her endorsement in Boston Mayor Marty Walsh's bid for re-election.

Warren, D-Mass., attended a campaign event for Walsh at Doyle's Pub in the city's Jamaica Plain neighborhood Sunday afternoon, where she officially made the announcement.

"We believe that we are going to stand with Marty Walsh and build a Boston that works even better for everyone, that's why we're here," says Warren.

Warren goes on to say, “It’s been about our values, it’s been about what kind of a city we build, about what kind of a Commonwealth we build, about what kind of a country we build. For Marty, it’s always been about those core values."

Walsh is running against fellow Democrat and City Councilor Tito Jackson as he seeks re-election to a second four-year term.

The two faced off in their first mayoral debate Wednesday night in Roxbury.
