Sen Warren: I will be voting no on Question 2

BOSTON — Sen. Elizabeth Warren announced Wednesday that she will be voting against lifting the cap on charter schools in Massachusetts.

This November, Question 2 on the ballot asks voters to raise the cap on charter schools in the state by 12 each year.

“After hearing more from both sides, I am very concerned about what this specific proposal means for hundreds of thousands of children across our Commonwealth, especially those living in districts with tight budgets where every dime matters,” Warren said in a statement.

Warren said many of the existing charter school in Massachusetts produce “extraordinary results for our students.”
