Selectmen weigh in after diner owner refuses to serve vet with service dog

OXFORD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – The town selectmen in Oxford are weighing in on the controversy surrounding a restaurant owner who kicked out a veteran and his service dog.

The Worcester Telegram and Gazette says the owner of Big I's did not violate any permits or leases when he kicked Air Force vet James Glaser and his service dog, Jack, out of the diner.

One town selectman wrote a letter saying he was disappointed in owner Russell Ireland, adding the town is grateful for all veterans. Ireland has since apologized publicly for his actions.

A rally is being held in Oxford Saturday to educate the public on post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD.

Glaser says he hopes the diner's owner will attend.
