• Second suspect arrested in Dorchester stabbing

DORCHESTER (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A second person has been arrested in the stabbing of a woman in front of an ice cream shop as she pushed her baby in a stroller.

Daquan Sparks, 19, was arrested in Quincy Thursday. He will be arraigned on assault with intent to murder charges April 8.

Police said Sparks lured the victim to Bay Street and held her as 17-year-old Samia Jones stabbed her six times with a butcher knife. The victim was able to make her way to an ice cream shop, where she was helped by customers.

Police said Sparks was the victim's ex-boyfriend and told her to meet him on Midland Street so he could give her a pair of shoes for the couple's child.

Jones was charged with assault with intent to murder and was held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The victim remains in stable condition at a hospital. The baby was not hurt in the attack.
