Search underway for dog stolen just before being adopted

METHUEN (MyFoxBoston.com) –The search is on for a dog that was stolen from the MSPCA Animal Care and Adoption Center in Methuen and Nevins Farm just before being adopted.

The MSPCA says Pete the 5-year-old Beagle was taken sometime between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, right before his adopter was scheduled to pick him up.

The Methuen Police Department will begin an investigation along with Granite State Dog Recovery, a volunteer group that specializes in locating and searching for stolen animals.

The dog is described as mostly white and brown and was last seen wearing a red collar.

The MSPCA said it does not plan on pressing charges. The person who has him can bring him back no questions asked as long as he is safe an unharmed.   Anyone who has any leads or who wants to help in the search for the dog can email MSPCA-Nevins Farm Director Mike Keiley at mkeiley@mspca.org.
